Our staff are working around the world to tackle the causes of conflict by promoting and developing human rights, democracy and good governance.

Human Rights Report 2008

The annual report provides an overview of the main challenges to human rights around the world and explains our activities and policies to address those challenges.

Rebuilding lives in Afghanistan

The FCO-led Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) is working in Helmand Province to rebuild schools, clinics and government buildings.

Despite the fragile security situation, the team are repairing the damage caused by the fighting.
